How do I upload my artwork?

Here are some guidelines to upload artworks on Cohart for an artist.

Not an artist? View these uploading guidelines for collectors and advisors, or check out how to share and engage with moments.

Refer to our Community Guidelines to ensure your artwork contributes to our safe and respectful community.

Step 1: Access the uploading flow

Step 2: Upload artwork images

Step 3: Add in details about the artwork

Step 4: Is the artwork sold, for sale, or open for inquiry?

Step 5: Share more about the artwork

Step 1: Access the uploading flow

  • Download the Cohart app on iOS / Android, or visit our website.
  • Sign in using your email address, Google, or Apple account.
  • In app, navigate to the Share button in the bottom navigation in app, or an + button in the website header.
  • Click on Upload an Artwork I Created button.

Step 3: Upload artwork images

You can select GIFs, PNGs, JPGs, JPEGs, or HEIC formatted files. You can also select multiple images at once to show detail shots and highlight your work from different angles.

High resolution images will enable other users to have the best experience while viewing your artwork, as well as presenting your work in a professional, high quality manner. The maximum size for each image is 20MB, and we recommend a resolution between 72 and 144dpi.

⚡️ Tip

Uploading multiple images of your work allows potential buyers to have a more comprehensive understanding of your piece. Including different angles, close-ups, and renderings helps bring your works to life and gives collectors confidence to make decisions about a potential purchase. Consider using a tool like Smartist or Canvy to create realistic renderings of your artwork on a wall!

Step 4: Add in details about the artwork

Fill in the Artwork Title and some Description to communicate the meaning or story behind the work and provide further context to the piece for the audience.

Next, fill in detailed information about your artwork including the Year created, Edition information (if applicable), accurate Dimensions and Weight, and the Materials used.

Depends on your artwork's listing information, some fields are required, marked with a green asterisk * for you to easily spot.

Step 4: Is the artwork sold, for sale, or open for inquiry?

You can select between:

Listing your artwork For Sale
  • When this option is selected, the Year, Dimensions, Weight, Artwork Price, and Quantity Available are required.
    • The Quantity Available field is automatically set to 1, this means your artwork listing only has 1 unit to sell. If you have >1 quantity, your artwork listing can be purchased by multiple buyers.
    • If your artwork with multiple quantity has sold ≥1, you will not be able to delete the artwork or edit other fields, except for Quantity Available.
  • You can also select whether you allow potential buyers to make an offer on the price. If you do, your artwork will be displayed with a Make an Offer button.
  • Provide accurate shipping details for your artwork to give more visibility to your audience, and ensure a smooth delivery process when the sale is made. You can specify how the artwork will be packaged and shipped in Artwork Shipping Options, provide Estimated Package Dimensions, and specify if the Artwork has a decorative frame.

⚡️ Tip

Including accurate dimensions and weight will allow us to provide shipping quotes and speed up the sale process. Please enter the weight of the artwork before packaging.

Allowing potential buyers to Inquire to Purchase

    • When this option is selected, your artwork will be displayed with an Inquire to Purchase button next to the Buy button, and interested buyers can inquire to learn more about this artwork.
Mark your artwork as Sold
    • When this option is selected, you can showcase the current owner of the artwork. Start by typing the name of the artwork's collector to find them on Cohart. If the name does not match any of our collector, you will have the option to use the name you have entered, or invite the collector to join Cohart.
    • You can also choose to display the sales data from this artwork on your profile. If you do, the Sold Price and Sold Date of the artwork are required.

⚡️ Tip

Including accurate dimensions and weight will allow us to provide shipping quotes and speed up the sale process. Please enter the weight of the artwork before packaging.

Step 5: Share more about the artwork

Next, tag your artwork with any applicable Vibes, Values, and Mediums. Adding tags that best describe your piece will help boost discoverability in the Cohart app.

If there are any behind-the-scenes Moments of the creation process (for artists) or unboxing/curating process (for collectors), you can add in here to enhance the storytelling of the piece.

Finally, select and answer up to 3 Quick Facts questions from our list to share more about this artwork and connect with your audience. Quick Facts are an excellent way to present fascinating and surprising pieces of information that your audience would otherwise not know. They serve as valuable tools for learning, igniting conversations, and adding a touch of novelty.

Once completed, click the Upload button in the bottom right corner of your screen. After the uploading process is completed, you will be redirected to the artwork details page to review and share it (for advisors, you will be redirected to your Dashboard to continue managing manual artworks and artists!)

Lather. Rinse. Repeat. We recommend uploading at minimum 5 artworks to your profile, but 10 artworks will get you improved visibility within the app.
